Fireworks

It's that time of the year again. The wonderful 4th of July celebration. For those of you looking to buy fireworks, at this point in time, you are better off looking for a local store to purchase your fireworks. The odds of ordering fireworks online and receiving them by the 4th of July are slim to none.

Below are some of the fireworks restrictions:

The states in blue allow some or all types of consumer fireworks permitted by federal regulations. (39 states + DC)

States in yellow allow only wire or wood stick sparklers and other novelty items. (5 states: IL, IA, ME, OH, VT)

States in red ban all consumer fireworks. (5 states: DE, MA, NJ, NY, RI)

Arizona only allows novelty items

For those of you in the 39 states in blue, please be careful. Fireworks are fun but they can definitely be dangerous. We have tried to find fireworks displays throughout the country but we find that it is often best to look at your local chamber of commerce to see the different fireworks events that are being planned in your area. Being a nationwide directory, it is too difficult to keep up with every 4th of July celebration in every state. All we can do is give you a few tips on what to do to make sure that you have a great time at your fireworks display show.

• CHAIRS: Make sure you bring some chairs for the entire family. Most of the time you will find yourself relaxing and looking into the sky as you enjoy the fireworks show.
• DRINKS: Bring a cooler with drinks for the family. Many times these fireworks shows get extremely full and you are left to park on the side of the road and try to enjoy the show. Just make sure you are ready.
• TIMING: Make sure you know the time when the fireworks start. The worst thing is missing out on fireworks because you have the time incorrect.
• CLOTHING: Depending on where you live, pay careful attention to the weather. You want to enjoy this day, so make sure you dress appropriately based on the weather.
