There is absolutely no comparison from CDs to live music. Live music is not only the sound, it is the experience. Most of my favorite bands sound so much better live, that I’d rather just go to the concert than listen to the songs on the radio. If your budget allows for hiring a live band, by all means, go for it! You’ll be glad you did. My Party Planner has lots of live bands in your area listed here on this site, so please feel free to search and call around! Most bands will email you an MP3 (music file) of a song or compilation of songs for you to hear. It’s their way of sending you a sample. Keep in mind that live music sounds better!
If you are still looking for wedding music, why don’t you hire a cover band? Maybe it’s not wedding appropriate, but I saw a (get this) Journey cover band from Mexico, and it sounded so much like them, I almost pinched myself to make sure I wasn’t dreaming! They were absolutely amazing. If you and your soon to be spouse have a favorite band that you both love, think about looking into hiring a cover band – you might just be pleasantly surprised at the results!
