Top 10 Horror Movies 2012

Over the years there have been many great horror movies. To save you sometime we have compiled the Top Ten Scary Movies of All Time in our 2012 Best Horror Movie List. Here are the results:

  1. The Shinning (Can’t beat a classic, “Here Comes Johnny”)
  2. The Ring (based on  Japanese film “Ringu”)
  3. 1982 The Thing (The Original Is The Better Movie)
  4. 1972 The Exorcist (Our staffs favorite, but there are many terrifying spin offs and remakes)
  5. 1978 Halloween (many remakes and spins offs here too, but the original is what makes it all great)
  6. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (Dealers Choice on which version, all remakes are pretty similar)
  7. Rec (Spanish Made. American version is called Quarantine but Rec is much spookier)
  8. Silence of the Lambs (creepy conversations will have you scared for days!)
  9. 1960 Psycho (The original, not the remake with Vince Vaughn. This movie makes this list with just one creepy quote – “She just goes a little mad sometimes. We all go a little mad sometimes”)
  10. Nightmare on Elm Street (we couldn’t forget about Freddy Kruger could we?)
  11. or 10 – Part 2. Friday the 13th (if we include Freddy we can’t leave out Jason)

Honorable Mentions: Night of the Living Dead (Originated the barricade yourself at home concept), Alien, Invasion of the Body Snatchers, Salem’s Lot (just seeing the villain will give you the creeps), Saw (Original or Pick your sequel), The Omen, and finally The Decent.

Funny Attempts: Poltergeist, Chuckie (Childs Play), Shawn of the dead, and lastly Zombie Land (Incredible movie!!).

If you think we missed a classic just post a message. Thanks!

  5. Steve the Corrector says:

Do you mean Nightmare on Elm Street and Friday the 13th? The only movie that has their names is the last… Jason isn’t even the killer till later films (Mrs. Vorhees is the original killer, mad bc her son (Jason) died at the camp).

  6. Monty says:

Freddy VS Jason, or any of either series prequels
