Greek Mythology Party Theme
Reenact legends from Greek Mythology at your party!
Make invitations to your Greek festival with parchment paper rolled into miniature scrolls.
Turn your home into a Greek temple. Cover the couch, chairs and other furniture with fabric remnants in white, purple and burgundy. Rent columns and statues and cover them in artificial ivy. Use white tablecloths with artificial ivy around the edges.
Encourage guests to dress up as Greek mythology gods or heroes. Options include the Titans, Aphrodite (the goddess of love), Apollo (god of the sun), Athena (goddess of wisdom and war), Hades (lord of the Underworld), Hera (goddess of marriage and Zeus’ wife), Zeus (King of the Gods, god of thunder and lightning), or Poseidon (god of the sea, horses and earthquakes). Other options are Cyclopes, nymphs, giants, Helen of Troy or Hercules. Make shields out of cardboard and paint them.
Serve delicious Greek dishes like chicken with sweet red peppers, a spinach, bean, and feta casserole, baked stuffed calamari, or Greek salad. Make a tray of stuffed grape leaves. Accompany the feast with wine.
Entertain the kids by decorating Greek pottery. Play a Greek mythology trivia game. Use gold coins and candy as party favors or prizes. Experience the excitement of Greek Mythology by reading passages of the Greek epic poem, "The Iliad."
