Wizard of Oz Party Theme

Take a trip to see the wonderful Wizard of Oz with these ideas:

Make a yellow brick road leading from the street to your doorstep using a roll of yellow butcher or mural paper. Place roads signs for places in the movie along the yellow-brick road.  Make Dorothy’s house of cardboard box or appliance box.  Make sure to stick witch leg props under the house.  Hang emerald green balloons and streamers throughout the party room.   Paint a large rainbow on butcher paper and paste high on a wall.  Make large lollipops out of a long stick and Styrofoam painted in bright colors.

Dress up as Wizard of Oz characters like Dorothy, Toto, Scarecrow, Lion, Glinda the Good Witch, Wicked Witch, and little kids would make adorable Munchkins.  

For entertainment ideas play Wizard of Oz on a projector or screen or play trivia.  Enhance the Wizard of Oz theme by playing its soundtrack in the background. 
 
Wizard of Oz-themed plates, cups and napkins can be purchased at a party store or online.
