The Acworth Young Chefs Academy provides culinary instruction for children as young as 3 ad adults who are still young at heart! The goal is to not only establish basic kitchen techniques, but to encourage smarter food choices. Our classes help build essential cooking skills and nutrition awareness through creativity, exploration, and discovery! Recipes are read together so that students can learn new words and practice cognitive skills. Students are prompted to notice the science of how foods react to physical and chemical stimuli. Math acumen is used to review measuring, counting, and weighing concepts. We also speak to the art of food presentation and discuss the cultural & historical influences on food. Our recipes are based on learning themes which change weekly. During classes, our chefs will learn principles in: – Kitchen safety – Proper food handling – Food preparation – Presentation – Cooking and baking techniques – Table setting, manners & etiquette Let's start cooking!
