| Description |

Bienvenue House Bed and Breakfast circa 1830 is listed on the National Register of Historic Places one of the few southern antebellum houses remaining after the Civil War. Located in the historic, unique town of St. Martinville (one the oldest towns in Louisiana) on the banks of Bayou Teche, homeland to the Acadians-Cajuns you are welcomed with hospitality. Each of the four rooms have fireplaces, a canopy bed, gallery upper porch, built in armoires, private baths (antique claw foot tubs), parlor and dining area. "The art of swinging" is seriously practiced here with front porch rocker, back yard swings and gallery rockers. The backyard is a bird sanctuary (birds from Lake Martin rookery). Gourmet Cajun or country breakfasts are served. The area offers a cultural introduction to the Cajun life-Cajun French language, outdoor wonderlands from Atachaflaya Basin to Lake Martin, excellent food, great music-Cajun, Zyedco, wonderful Mardis Gras celebrations and a festival every weekend! |
