Dorothy - the wedding designer taking the world by storm! I have neat ideas for your wedding that you won't find anywhere. With my clever imaginative brain and my diligent working staff, we are the best wedding coordinators you'll find anywhere in the world. We work as a team combining all of our strengths to bring you the best customer service possible, which is most important when choosing a wedding coordinator.
I'll tell you how it all began: growing up in a minister's family in Irish Hills, Michigan, my sisters and I had been to more weddings before we were ten than the average person goes to in a lifetime. We loved it too! We would go upstairs to the balcony all by ourselves to watch Dad deliver his message and unite the two, gaze at the beautiful bride's dress and sometimes poke fun at the funny groomsmen. But someone who we really most enjoyed watching, more than anyone, was the unsung hero of the wedding, the wedding coordinator - Mom.
Little did I know that was going to be me someday! I love planning events where I'm bringing people together to love, celebrate and party. I started throwing my parties in the 1990s. The most important party I ever threw was my wedding. The wedding was a success. It just made sense. All of the guests traveling to Miami and partying on a weekend wedding cruise. It was beautiful seeing the camaraderie develop between my family and friends and his. Instead of being segregated at different hotels, we were all together for the weekend on one ship.
As we wrapped up the wedding weekend, my Uncle Tom said, "Congratulations on a wonderful wedding weekend. You should seriously consider this for a business."
Bahama Cruise Weddings was born. When we arrived back from the honeymoon, the website was developed. Since 2001, families and friends have been celebrating weddings like no other.
Time has gone on and my dear friends have enjoyed watching my business grow. One very special friend suggested that I expand my business to include more locations to make these happy unique weddings for people all over the world!
I've had a blast designing new wedding ideas in unique destinations. When I started, I couldn't believe how many brides were searching for a wedding designer that will create their ideas such as a NASCAR wedding. Count on Dorothy to think "outside of the box." I thrive on creating an experience no one forgets, that guests talk about forever, and most importantly - a wedding commemorating the special character of your love as a couple.
