Encuentro Latino
This group formed by three accomplished young musicians perform choice latin selections in an elegant and natural presentation. The group plays a wide variety musical styles including:
Rumba Flamenca (Gipsy Kings style)
Son Cubano (Buena Vista Social Club style)
Cumbias
Boleros
Festejo Afro-Peruano
Bossa Nova and Jazz
Encuentro Latino is based on Acoustic Guitar, Tres Cubano and various hand percussion instruments including Cajón, Maracas and Bongo. Together with harmonized vocals they produce an innovative sound based on these diverse traditions. Each member of Encuentro Latino is an experienced professional musician with years of formal and informal training. This extensive study and dedication to music is necessary in order to play such a wide variety of musical styles. Members of Encuentro Latino have performed in large theaters and national and international tours. The great thing about Encuentro Latino is the flexibility to play either relaxing or up-beat music.
