Situated on a 330-year-old, mile long street, Historic Deerfield preserves and interprets the architecture, artifacts and lifestyle of a prosperous early New England town. Along with 13 museum houses and galleries, Historic Deerfield also offer individuals, families,companies, clubs and organizations space to hold weddings, parties, meetings, and educations presentations at the White Church Community Center.
The White Church Community Center offers ballroom space with high ceilings and tall windows, a stage and balcony with theater seating capacity of 120 and banquet table seating capacity of 100. This recently refurbished historic building, is airy and full of light with a full eastern and western exposure. The building has a large kitchen available for final preparation of meals. Catering by the Deerfield Inn available, as well as a list of other local caterer familiar with the facilities. The stage includes a large pull down screen for projected presentations. The building and restrooms are handicapped accessible. The building is entered through a large side foyer that has room for pre-event activities or through a tree shaded front door and vestibule. Plenty of parking for events is available.
About the museum: The museum houses, built between 1730 and 1850, and the Flynt Center of Early New England Life display more than 25,000 objects made or used in America between 1650 and 1850. It is the quality of this collection, the meticulously preserved 18th and 19th century houses in which it is displayed, and the old village itself that make Historic Deerfield the New England that all travellers hope to find.
