Hoodoo Blues, formed in 1999, has opened for national acts Guitar Shorty and B.J. Sharp, has appeared at the OB and San Marcos Street fairs and has twice been the house band for the KUSI weekend news.
Well known for their infectious rhythms and blend of blues, swing, funk and rock, Hoodoo Blues has been featured at nightclubs and special events through out Southern California. They have become a favorite at venues such as: Oceanside Blues Fest , Seaport Village Blues by the Bay, First Night Escondido, OFest July 4, Blues for Braille Institute Benefit, SDMA PB & Jam, House of Blues, Belly Up, Blind Melons, Winstons, San Diego Harley Davidson, Mission Bay Deli, Kings Fish House, The Kraken, Rosie O'Gradys, Teo Leo's, Islands Saloon, The Waterfront, The Lucadian, and the Tiki House.
Hoodoo Blues first CD, "Running for the Light" was nominated for best blues CD at 2001 at the San Diego County Music Awards, their second CD, "In Trouble Again", was nominated for best blues CD at the 2003 awards. In 2004 SDMA nominated Hoodoo Blues as Best Blues Band for the 2004 awards. |
