Description
INFOCUS VIDEO Award Winning Videography Cape Cod, Martha's Vineyard, Nantucket, Boston, Metro West, South Mass, NH, Rhode Island Types of Video Productions Engagement Video: A video documenting the groom asking the bride to marry. Quite often filmed without the bride's knowledge. Invitation DVD: Some invitation printers will include a DVD disc in a slot in the printed invitation. The DVD shows the couple and/or the parents on camera inviting viewers to the wedding and reception. The DVD is usually produced by the same videographer who films the wedding and may include footage from a Concept Video. Photo Montage: (also called video scrapbooks or slide show) includes but not limited to still pictures displayed on a video. Can also include sound bites and video footage, but is predominantly still photos. The Slide Show is a wonderful feature for your guests to enjoy during the Rehearsal Dinner, Bridal Brunch, Cocktail Hour, or Wedding Reception-those charming and informal candids of important moments leading up to the big day: Childhood Photos, Getting Acquainted, Special Dates, Showers, Bachelor/Bachelorette Parties… Love Story: Traditionally an interview (videotaped before the wedding or after for 1 year anniversary) of the bride and groom about how they met, what they are like together and what their plans for the future are. Quite often the interview is inter-cut with romantic footage of the couple frolicking together or re-enactments of what they are talking about. Concept Video: Typically a short film that incorporates to tell a story about the bride or groom or both. Quite often not related to the couple's real life. Same Day Edit: (Also called a wedding day edit or wedding encore presentation) A short video produced from the footage of the wedding shot earlier in the day, usually only incorporating footage from pre-ceremony, ceremony and post ceremony, that is then showed at the reception as a recap of the wedding. Bridal Elegance: A video shot in the style of a fashion shoot that depicts the bride in her wedding gown. Can be done before, during or after the wedding. Highlights: A chapter on the final DVD that shows highlights of the ceremony and reception. Usually running under 10 minutes, highlights videos may be uploaded online. The shorter highlights chapter is popular to show friends, while family might watch the full-length wedding DVD. Watch wedding day highlight here: www.FineWeddingWebsite.com Dozens of photographers at your wedding: We will copy all of your guest's digital pictures before they leave so you'll never miss a thing! See parts of your wedding you'd otherwise not see. CD of untouched photos are available the night of the event. We can load it onto iPod or USB so you can preview it right away in your digital frame and enjoy during the honeymoon. Better than disposable cameras (quality, cost, convenience) You can uploaded it to the web or give it to photographer for inclusion in photo album (with prior arrangement) Taping Style Our approach to Event Videography is very much about capturing the spirit of the day through the spontaneous moments and telling the story journalistically. We pay particular attention to the subtle gestures, details, emotions that make each event unique. We use high quality wireless and on camera microphones so even when it is hard to hear the speaker for the audience we don't miss anything on tape. During the event we try to stay as invisible as possible. We don't ask people to pose or stop or do something over. Editing Style We edit in both "journalistic" and "cinematic" styles. Video Journalistic style is typically described as a documentary of the event. Segments are edited as they occur to preserve continuity. This style of editing will produce a polished documentation of the day as it unfolds. Also can be referred to as Documentary Style. Cinematic, the term is defined as making a movie or film. It is captured and edited for the dramatic effect and mood. It is usually presented with a particular style and "wow" effect that may not be present in a "mere documentary" of the event. We edit under 10 minutes highlights videos with music of your choice that may be uploaded online. The shorter highlights chapter is popular to show friends, while family might watch the full-length wedding DVD. You can choose from Short Form Wedding video or Traditional. Short form is a video of the day that has been edited to fit within 50 minutes (on 1 DVD). Traditional, is a catch all term for styles that do not fit with above. Traditional tends to look more like a family shot video, it can be edited, but usually lightly. Everything is edited in a linear progression and usually in its entirety. These videos tend to be 2 to 3 hours in length. Award Winning Videography Testimonials Elena, Thank you so much for the online clip. It looks fantastic!!! We also received the dvds on Saturday it was such a great video. Thank you for sending them so quickly. We just got back from the Galapagos on Friday so it was really nice to have the videos upon our return. They turned out so beautiful. We had such a magical day and the video will let us remember the joy for years to come. Thanks again for helping make our wedding day so wonderful. Orla + Brad, San Francisco, CA, Ceremony at Holy Redeemer Church, Chatham, Reception at Ocean Edge, Brewster, MA, April 2007. ---------------------- I just wanted to say thank you for filming our Wedding at Chatham Bars Inn on September 25th 2006! The rushes from your filming are excellent and perfect for editing with! I love the details you have captured, from a bumblebee hanging around when we were having photographs taken to capturing the atmosphere with guests chatting and laughing. It was great to work with you, I have to say it was so nice to open my door on the morning of the wedding and have someone as bright and energetic as you there to film it!! You were so unobtrusive and know some of the guests including my Brother, who was a cameraman, really enjoyed chatting with you about your work. Looking at the footage is like being there again with a fresh set of eyes! Many Thanks! Rachael & Joe G., London, Wedding at Chatham Bars Inn, Chatham, September 2006 --------------------- Elena, we got the slide show today. You did a beautiful job. I watched with tears in my eyes. And thanks also for all copies. Everyone will be happy. I have your cards and a friend interested in my results. I'll give her one when I see her tomorrow. Many Thanks. Barbara C. Fine Art Museum, Boston, September 2006 ------------------ We just got home from our honeymoon - and the dvd was waiting at the door. I can't even tell you how FABULOUS it is. You did an excellent job. I've watched it three times - Jesse is ready to kill me I think :) We are so grateful to have you document our ceremony so well. We are going to put a link to your company on my blog - and our florist is going to contact you about maybe using a splice on their web site. They thought you did such a great job shooting the flowers. So thank you again - we'd gladly recommend you to anyone that might need a videographer. Also - I think my mom is going to call you tomorrow to get another copy :) Thanks again, Anne, Morristown, NJ, Ceremony at Holy Redeemer Church, Chatham, July 2006 --------------------- I didn't get to meet you at the wedding, but I am Anne Khoobiar Heap's mother. She just sent me a clip of the video that you took. I was very proud that I didn't cry like a baby at the wedding, but upon viewing the video, I've gone through 1/2 box of tissues! You did an incredible job - thank you, thank you, thank yo u.... I was especially impressed because you were not visible during the ceremony (either that or I was totally oblivious!!!) Again, kudos for a fantastic job. Andrea Khoobiar, Chatham, MA ----------------- We got the DVD on Saturday and it is beautiful. Thank you very much for all of your hard work, we loved how you incorporated the Nobska lighthouse in the video. You caught some moments we even forgot about. Thank you again. Fondly, Dawn & Dave MacNeill , Sandwich, MA, Wedding at Brookside Golf Club (508) 743-4653 , Bourn, MA, June 2006 ------------------- We so much appreciate the work that you did for us for our wedding. I cannot think of a more cherished memory than our video. We have watched it with tears in our eyes on more than one occasion. It is clearly one of the best decisions we made regarding our wedding services. The quality is excellent, and those who watch it with us, and so very impressed! We thank you again!" Judy S. & Mary C. , Brewster, MA , Ceremony at First Parish Brewster, August 2004 ---------------------- July, 2005 Magazine "On The Water" Rigging Lures -101 Instructional Video on How To Rig Lures & Leaders for Offshore (DVD) ..."You can read about these things in many books, but as far as I'm concerned, watching someone do it is far better. The camera work in this DVD is excellent, and in some ways using this format is even better than watching someone do the rigging in person because you can watch details of the process repeatedly to pick up little tricks that may be hard to figure out..." That's what Outer Cape tube-types will be saying as they click around the dial this Christmas. Lower Cape TV, the region's community access channel, is presenting nearly 24 hours of the original reality show: a fire in a Dennis fireplace. Lower Cape TV producer Elena Bowman sits by her fireplace with a fire video she filmed for the station that will air this weekend. WPIX in New York City began the tradition back in 1966 (Times photo by Paul Blackmore) -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ''In my dream world viewers will just turn it on, turn the sound up a little bit to hear the crackling, and just forget about it,'' said Lower Cape TV program director James Paul Ludwig. ''Maybe every once in a while they can look over and it will warm their heart.'' The yule log concept is already tried-and-true. WPIX-TV in New York City lit the flame in 1966, broadcasting a looped snippet of the fireplace at Gracie Mansion, the mayor's residence. ''The crew singed a priceless oriental carpet,'' said WPIX spokesman Ted Faraone. ''They weren't invited back.'' Despite the rug burn and miffed mayor, WPIX beamed out the yule log show on Christmas eves and mornings from 1966 to 1989, usually in two-to-four-hour chunks, backed by holiday music. After a nostalgia-fueled grass-roots campaign, the broadcast returned in 2001. And it usually won its Christmas morning slot in the Nielsen television ratings, said Faraone, ''unless there's a good football game on.'' The Lower Cape TV yule log will take a good thing and make it even longer. Ludwig said the televised fire will start at 9:30 p.m. Dec. 24 and run through 8 p.m. Christmas Day. Producer Elena Bowman shot the video last weekend at her house in Dennis. ''This is a professional fire,'' she promised. ''It looks perfect, with nice logs, but behind it all there are wood pellets, which make a nice crackling and popping noise. I used two microphones to get it in stereo. ''Of course, pellets make a lot of smoke,'' said Bowman. ''So after an hour I had to stop filming and open all the windows.'' The yule log idea had been percolating for several years at the Lower Cape cable TV access station, Ludwig said. ''What I like is the minimalist concept,'' he said. ''We decided to keep it really simple, just the snap, crackle and pop of the fire. We figured everybody is going to have their own music at home.'' Lower Cape TV, located in Orleans, has been home to plenty of ambient programming over the years. ''We've had horses jumping, bird feeders, boats going through the Cape Cod Canal, and people really seem fascinated,'' said Ludwig. ''And I've tried to pitch 'The Vacuum Channel,' and 'Doorknobs of America,' but so far no one is interested.'' A roaring conflagration, however, seems a surefire ratings winner. ''No human will appear in the film,'' guaranteed Bowman. ''At one point I was a little scared because a spark flew right out at the camera, but I kept shooting.'' The late Fred Thrower, the WPIX general manager who created the original yule log program was quoted as saying the show was for ''all the cave dwellers in New York, all the apartments that don't have fireplaces.'' Ludwig and Bowman are hoping to reach the brave year-round souls who call the Outer Cape home. ''In so many ways, the television has replaced the fireplace in modern culture,'' said Ludwig. ''But a fire is so primal and it's the darkest time of the year. People want to stay together and stay warm. Maybe our yule log will help.''
