SaraCura is a fun, eclectic gift shop located in the heart of Dinkytown. We specialize in Belly Dance supplies and Henna, consignment from local artist, as well as silver and gemstone jewelry.
Traditional henna body art is widespread throughout the world. Henna body painting is an ancient cosmetic and healing art. The leaves of the henna plant are dried and crushed into a powder, then made into a paste that is applied to the body to naturally and temporarily dye the skin in a reddish color. This can be done in elaborate patterns and designs, traditionally on the hands and feet since that is where the henna is most effective and stays the longest. The result is a temporary "tattoo", which will last from several days to several weeks. The process is painless and in no way harmful to the skin. If anything, it tickles a bit.
