| Description |
|
This beautiful antebellum home, built in 1832, is named Trivium because it is situated at a crossroads where a traveler might take one of three directions. History tells us that a late 19th century owner called the dwelling Buena Vista; a name made clear by the magnificent views of the Blue Ridge Mountains and specifically the Peaks of Otter. It is also believed that the property may have served as an outpost and tavern during the Civil War Era.
Set on 13 rolling acres and overlooking a 2 acre lake, the 5,000 square foot Inn, warmly and elegantly decorated with a country colonial theme, boasts a total of 4 bedrooms, two of which are full suites. All guest rooms offer a private bath. Guests can enjoy the many common areas of the Inn, from the elegantly appointed parlor with gas-logs fireplace, to the large and sunny dining room, also appointed with gas logs and television, and outside to the patio and large southern columned porch, complete with rocking chairs and spectacular views.
Although the Inn is equipped to cater small parties of up to 30 people in the dining room, for large special events, the 3,000 square foot Trivium Ballroom was completed in June 2006. This building mirrors the architecture of the main house, is equipped with a stage area with large windows for a wide-open view of the lake, and is attached to the Inn by an enclosed walk way for easy access. This building makes Trivium the ideal choice for weddings, receptions, club meetings, office parties, luncheons, teas, rehearsal dinners
. etc!
